“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness.”- President George Washington
President George Washington believed that being a “Patriot” is as much about our moral foundation and the orientation of our lifestyle as it is about our commitment to Constitutional principles.
In fact, he did not believe it was possible to be a true champion of constitutional principles and at the same time advocate government sanction of immorality.
I simply do not believe the Founders would support such concepts as the legalization of drugs and prostitution, gay marriage and abortion.
These things are a direct contrast to everything the Founders originally intended when they wrote the Bill of Rights and the U.S. Constitution.
America was intended to be a moral enterprise, in that this nation was created to be a Judeo-Christian society. It’s laws were to be based upon Judeo-Christian values. Hence, the words of President Washington.
I will always stand upon the original intentions of the writers of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.
I will always stand upon the fact that true Patriotism is as much a personal moral commitment to Christian values as it is a political commitment to the principles of limited government.
God blessed America because America believed in God and His moral laws. The day we cease to do so is the day God will no longer bless America.
Our Republic must remain a moral enterprise if we are to be the nation our Founders intended us to be. If we are to be the nation God intended us to be.

I think the evidence is clear that George Washington was correct. Today, religion and morality are looked upon with disdain in ever increasing segments of our society. In the name of tolerance, we accept those things which subvert both morality and religion and consequently, the nation.
Thank you for your input, Mr. Reed!

The problem is that we are no longer a moral country.
Mr. Reed is correct.
It is a shame the only things not tolerated are christian values,
